Patrón El Cielo is a silver tequila produced at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico, where the brand has operated since 1989. This expression uses 100 percent Weber Blue agave sourced from the Jalisco Highlands, a region known for producing agave with higher sugar content and sweeter, fruitier characteristics compared to lowland varieties. What distinguishes El Cielo from standard Patrón Silver is its unique quadruple distillation process. The liquid undergoes two distillations in traditional copper pot stills followed by two additional distillations in a custom-designed column and pot still hybrid. This extended distillation yields a remarkably light and clean spirit while still preserving agave character. The name translates to 'the sky' in Spanish, referencing its ethereal, refined nature. Patrón combines both tahona-crushed and roller mill-extracted agave juice in their production, blending the two for their signature house style. El Cielo is positioned as a premium sipping tequila and also works in cocktails where agave presence without heavy weight is the goal. Standard blanco tequilas tend toward robust and grassy notes.
