Don Julio - 1942
$25.61
Don Julio 1942 is produced at Destilería La Primavera in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, where red clay soils and cooler temperatures give agave with higher sugar concentrations. It is made from fully mature Blue Weber agave, harvested after seven to ten years, and aged a minimum of two and a half years in American white oak barrels, longer than the legal minimum for añejo tequila. It has pronounced oak, caramel richness and a soft texture. Don Julio González founded the brand in 1942 at age 17. This is the 50 ml size. It sits at the sweeter, more barrel-forward end of the añejo category and is served neat.
