$333.11
Clase Azul Reposado is produced at Destiladora de Agave San Andrés in Jalisco, Mexico, under the Grupo Cardenal umbrella. It is made from highland Blue Weber agave from the Los Altos region, where red clay soils and higher elevation give richer, sweeter agave than the lowlands. The piñas are slow-cooked in brick ovens, fermented and twice distilled in copper pot stills. The spirit is aged for eight months in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon, giving vanilla, caramel and warm spice. The bottle is a hand-painted ceramic decanter made by artisans in Mazahua communities in Santa María Canchesdá, Michoacán. The texture is smooth and rounded. The agave character is present but secondary to the oak.
