The Wine
Castiglione is Vietti's entry point into Barolo, which still means serious Nebbiolo from one of the Langhe's most trusted names. Bring something that can stand up to it: braised short rib, lamb shoulder, or a plate of aged Parmigiano to let the tannin find its footing before the main course arrives.
Worth Knowing
The cellar sits at the top of the village of Castiglione Falletto. Alfredo Currado bottled Rocche di Castiglione on its own from 1961, one of the first single vineyard Barolos ever made.
