Trimbach Cuvee Des Seigneurs Gewurztraminer

Cuvee des Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre is Trimbach’s prestige Gewurztraminer, made only in exceptional years from the best parcels near the family’s home in Ribeauville. It takes its name from the medieval lords of Ribeaupierre, whose castle ruins still overlook the vineyards.

2005 was a very great year in Alsace: warm and concentrated, producing wines with the depth to age for decades rather than years. At twenty-plus years from the vintage, the 2005 Seigneurs is at the beginning of its ideal drinking window. Rose petal, lychee and ginger have deepened into something more complex and honeyed, without losing Gewurztraminer’s floral core.

This is the kind of white wine that is almost impossible to find at this stage of development. Once it is gone, this vintage is gone.
