The Wine
A St. Helena classic
Spottswoode is a single estate Cabernet from the town of St. Helena, in the heart of Napa Valley. The Novak family has owned the property since 1972 and farms it themselves.
The estate vineyard is a monopole, entirely the family’s, farmed certified organic and biodynamic. That patient, low-intervention farming is a large part of why Spottswoode is counted among Napa’s benchmark Cabernets.
The 2020 drew exceptional reviews: powerful but composed, and built for the long haul. It is the kind of bottle you lay down for a decade, or open when the occasion deserves something serious.

Spottswoode has been in the Novak family’s hands since 1972, and it is still a family business, farmed and run across generations.
The estate is certified organic and biodynamic, a single contiguous vineyard the family controls end to end. The focus is narrow on purpose: one address, farmed carefully, year after year.
