The Wine
Tuscan red at this price is carrying real structure; the tannin and acidity built into Sangiovese-based blends from this part of Italy are made for the table, not the glass alone. Bistecca, wild boar ragu, or anything braised low and slow will give those tannins something to grip and let the wine open up the way it was meant to.
Worth Knowing
The villa has been on record since 1427 and was once called the queen of all villas. Tsar Paul I stayed there, and Pope Pius VII slept there on his way to crown Napoleon.
