The Wine
Elegance, the Haut-Bailly way
Château Haut-Bailly is one of the classified growths of Pessac-Léognan, in the gravelly heart of the Graves just south of the city of Bordeaux. It has spent decades building its name on one quality above all others, finesse.
Where many Left Bank estates chase power, Haut-Bailly is prized for elegance, balance and a remarkable consistency from vintage to vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, grown on a single hill of gravel and sand with a core of very old vines.
The 2011 is a classic, claret-styled Haut-Bailly, poised and aromatic rather than a blockbuster, the kind of mature Bordeaux that is drinking beautifully now.

The Estate
A house built on finesse
Haut-Bailly has been owned by the Wilmers family since 1998, with Véronique Sanders, whose own family held the estate for decades before them, leading it as director. That continuity shows in the glass.
The estate is known for a treasured parcel of very old vines, a field blend planted around a century ago, which lends depth and perfume to the top wine.
