The Wine
Lavaux Saint-Jacques: power and perfume
Lavaux Saint-Jacques is one of the most celebrated premier cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, lying on the slope directly above the village on brown limestone soils. It produces Gevrey at its most complete: the depth and structure the appellation is known for, with a perfumed lift that not every 1er cru delivers.
Faiveley has been one of the reference houses for this site for generations. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was exceptional: a warm, generous year that produced concentrated, ripe fruit without losing the acidity and tension that defines the Cote de Nuits at its best.
The wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and structured, with the saline finish and dark berry character that mark the great Gevrey premier crus.

Domaine Faiveley, since 1825
The Faiveley family has been making wine in Burgundy since 1825, across seven generations. The domaine today owns some of the finest parcels in the Cote de Nuits, with deep roots in Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Chambolle-Musigny.
At Lavaux Saint-Jacques, Faiveley farms a parcel that has been in the family for decades, and the wine is one of the domaine’s signature expressions of what the Cote de Nuits does at the premier cru level.
