The Wine
A Meursault from Château de Pommard
Meursault is one of the great white wine villages of Burgundy, in the Côte de Beaune, famous for rich, golden Chardonnay. This one comes from Château de Pommard, an estate better known for its red Pommard just up the road.
Château de Pommard was founded in 1726 and now farms biodynamically. This Meursault is golden and generous, with ripe citrus, white flowers and a soft almond note, the buttery richness the village is loved for.
It is the kind of white Burgundy that drinks beautifully now, with roast chicken, rich fish, or simply on its own.

The Estate
Château de Pommard
Château de Pommard dates to 1726 and is one of the most historic estates in the Côte de Beaune. In 2014 it was bought by the Carabello-Baum family, the first American family to own a wine estate and château in Burgundy.
Under them the estate has converted fully to biodynamic farming, and broadened beyond its home village of Pommard to make wines like this Meursault.
