Ramos Pinto's Quinta do Bom Retiro is one of the Douro's serious addresses for aged tawny, and twenty years in barrel shows. Serve it slightly cool alongside a cheese course, salted caramel, or anything with roasted nuts; the oxidative richness and natural sweetness meet fat and salt head-on without tipping into cloying.
