The Whisky
Between the islands and the Highlands
Oban is one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland, built in 1794 in the little west coast harbour town that later grew up around it. With just two small stills, it makes very little whisky, which is part of its appeal.
The 14 Year Old is its flagship, a West Highland malt that sits right between two worlds. It has a touch of the smoke and sea salt of the islands, wrapped around the honeyed, fruity sweetness of the Highlands.
The spirit is condensed in worm tubs out in the sea air above the town, which adds a distinct maritime depth. A characterful malt with a real sense of place.

Nose
Sea salt, orange peel, honey, subtle peat smoke, and dried herbs.
Palate
Rich honey, brine, gentle smoke, citrus, and warming spice throughout.
Finish
Medium length with lingering salt and sweet oak.

The Oban distillery was built in 1794 by the Stevenson brothers, before the town itself existed, and still sits right in the middle of it today.
It is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, and the 14 Year Old represents the West Highland style in Diageo’s Classic Malts range.
