The Tequila
The Cuervo family reserve
Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia is the family’s private reserve, an extra añejo first shared beyond the family in 1995 to mark two hundred years of making tequila. The Cuervos were granted the first royal charter to produce tequila commercially back in 1795.
It is made at La Rojeña in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, the oldest working distillery in Latin America. The tequila is aged in a blend of new American and French oak, drawing on barrels of many different ages to build its depth.
Every bottle is numbered, sealed in wax by hand, and presented in a collectible box featuring the work of a Mexican artist. A tequila made to be kept as much as poured.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Roasted agave, dark caramel, toasted oak, dried fig, and subtle cinnamon.
Palate
Rich cooked agave, butterscotch, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, with warm oak spice.
Finish
Long and warming with lingering oak and sweet agave.
