The Bottle
El Tequileno Platinum is the flagship blanco expression from the Tequilena distillery in the city of Tequila, produced to showcase the full character of both highland and lowland agave in a single unaged spirit. Platinum represents the distillery's best work in the blanco category: a spirit with genuine depth, dried herb character, and a minerality that comes from the terroir of the Tequila valley. For drinkers who want to understand what valley-grown tequila tastes like at its best, this is the place to start.
Worth Knowing
Launched on the first of January 1959 by Jorge Salles Cuervo, and still family run in the town of Tequila. The distillery uses mineral rich volcanic spring water rather than treated water, which is unusual.
