The Whisky
Sherry cask, full strength
A’bunadh means of the origin in Gaelic, and the name is a clue. This is Aberlour made the old way, matured entirely in first fill Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, with no bourbon casks anywhere in the mix.
It is bottled at full cask strength, usually around 60%, with no water added and no chill filtering. That keeps every bit of the rich, dark, sherried character intact.
Each release is a numbered batch, so no two are exactly alike. Expect dried fruit, chocolate and spice, big and warming. A drop of water opens it up beautifully.
