The Japanese Liqueur Mizunara

The Japanese Liqueur Mizunara is produced in Japan. It is named after mizunara oak, a native Japanese timber used in whisky maturation that gives sandalwood, coconut and incense-like qualities. Mizunara oak is slow-growing and difficult to work with. The liqueur uses mizunara oak as a central influence in the flavour.

The sweetness is calibrated to the wood-derived aromatics. It is served neat or over a single large ice cube, and used in stirred cocktails.
