The Gladstone Axe - The Black Axe

Gladstone Axe is a blended malt Scotch whisky brand founded by rock musician Alex Kane, with a visual identity from rock and roll culture.

The Black Axe is the darker, more intense expression, using whiskies predominantly from Speyside distilleries with heavily peated malt added for a smoky counterpoint to the sweeter grain character.

The blend is finished in American oak barrels that previously held bourbon, adding vanilla and charred wood notes alongside the peat smoke. It carries no age statement. It balances the fruit-forward sweetness of Speyside with earthy, medicinal smoke, between Speyside and a heavily peated Islay.
