Stolichnaya, commonly known as Stoli, has a production history stretching back to Soviet-era Russia, though the brand is now distilled and bottled in Latvia following a lengthy legal and corporate separation.

The Premium expression is made from a blend of wheat and rye grains sourced from Russia, which are fermented and distilled at the Talvis distillery before being blended with artesian well water and filtered through quartz sand, activated charcoal, and woven cloth.

This multi-stage filtration is central to Stoli's house character, producing a vodka that is notably clean and smooth without being entirely neutral. The wheat and rye base contributes a mild cereal sweetness and a subtle grain texture that sets it apart from corn-based or purely wheat-based competitors.

It works in classic cocktails like a Moscow Mule or Vodka Martini, where its soft grain character adds presence without dominating the mix.
