SKYY Vodka was founded in San Francisco in 1992 by Maurice Kanbar, who developed the brand around a quadruple-distillation and triple-filtration process meant to reduce congeners. It is made from American grain, primarily wheat and corn from the Midwest, at a large commercial facility.
It is known for its cobalt blue bottle. The Campari Group acquired the brand in 2009 and continues production in the United States. The profile is soft and relatively neutral. It is used in a Moscow mule, a vodka soda and a martini.
