Sheringham Distillery - Seaside Gin

Sheringham Distillery is in the coastal community of Shirley on Vancouver Island, where founders Jason and Alayne MacIsaac began making spirits in 2015. Seaside Gin gets its character from hand-harvested winged kelp from the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

It is a contemporary gin built on traditional botanicals including juniper, coriander and citrus peel, with the foraged seaweed added. The kelp gives a subtle brininess and umami depth. Rose hip and grains of paradise add floral and spice notes.

The distillery uses a direct fired copper pot still and BC grain for the base spirit. It has been recognized at the World Gin Awards. It is used in a martini with dry vermouth, with tonic and a lemon twist, or in a Negroni.
