Nakano - Momo No Osake

Momo no Osake, which translates roughly to peach sake, is a fruit-infused Japanese rice wine produced by Nakano BC Co., Ltd., a sake and shochu producer based in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Wakayama is known both for its sake brewing tradition and its outstanding stone fruit, and this product draws on both.

The base is sake, to which peach is added to create a lightly sweet, fruit-forward drink that sits somewhere between a traditional sake and a fruit liqueur. At 300ml, it is a compact format well suited to gifts, curiosity purchases, or a single evening pour. The alcohol content is relatively low.

The peach character is genuine and soft rather than synthetic. It is lightly sweet without being cloying. It works well lightly chilled on its own, poured over ice, or used as a mixer in simple cocktails. It is an entry point into Japanese fruit sake available in a small format.
