The Black Barrel Double Cask Blend is made from column and pot still rums first aged in American oak bourbon barrels, then finished in charred bourbon casks, which intensifies the vanilla and caramel from the oak while keeping the fruity, slightly spiced quality of the Barbadian style.
It is produced at the Mount Gay distillery in St. Lucy Parish on the northern tip of Barbados, with local coral-filtered water. Black Barrel sits above Eclipse and below XO in the Mount Gay lineup. It is sipped neat or used in spirit-forward cocktails.
