Midleton - Green Spot

Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey produced at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. It traces to the Mitchell family, Dublin wine merchants who began bonding their own whiskey in the 1800s. The green spot painted on casks marked whiskey aged for approximately ten years.

It is one of the few traditional pot still whiskeys produced continuously since before the decline of Irish whiskey in the twentieth century. It is made from a mashbill of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in ex-bourbon barrels and sherry casks.

It carries no age statement and is a vatting of whiskeys aged between seven and ten years. Medium-bodied with pot still spice, orchard fruit and gentle oak.
