Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey produced at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. This historic expression traces its roots to the Mitchell family, Dublin wine merchants who began bonding their own whiskey in the 1800s.

The green spot painted on casks indicated whiskey aged for approximately ten years, distinguishing it from other age designations in their inventory. Today, Green Spot remains one of the few traditional pot still whiskeys continuously produced since before Irish whiskey's decline in the twentieth century.

The whiskey is crafted from a mashbill of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper pot stills, then matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and sherry casks.

This dual cask approach creates a layered character that balances the signature spicy, oily texture of pot still whiskey with subtle dried fruit sweetness. Green Spot carries no age statement but represents a vatting of whiskeys aged between seven and ten years.

The result is a medium-bodied spirit with characteristic pot still spice, orchard fruit notes, and gentle oak influence. For those seeking an authentic taste of traditional Irish whiskey-making, Green Spot offers genuine heritage without pretension at a reasonable price point.
