Limoncello - Luxardo

Luxardo is one of Italy's most storied liqueur producers, founded in Zara in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo and now based in Torreglia in the Veneto. The company is best known for its maraschino cherry liqueur, but its limoncello is a serious expression of Italy's most iconic lemon liqueur category.

Luxardo sources Femminello lemons, the classic Sorrento variety prized for their thick, intensely aromatic rind, and macerates the zest in neutral spirit before blending with sugar syrup.

The result is a limoncello that sits on the sweeter, more commercial end of the spectrum while still delivering genuine lemon oil character rather than the artificial citrus punch found in cheaper alternatives.
