Limoncello - Luxardo

Luxardo is an Italian liqueur producer founded in Zara in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo and now based in Torreglia in the Veneto. It is best known for maraschino cherry liqueur. Its limoncello uses Femminello lemons, the Sorrento variety with a thick, aromatic rind.

The zest is macerated in neutral spirit and blended with sugar syrup. It is on the sweeter end of the spectrum with lemon oil character. At a typical 27 percent ABV. It is served well-chilled from the freezer as a digestif, and used in a limoncello spritz or a lemon drop. This is the 750 ml size.
