Lagavulin 16 Year Old

Lagavulin 16 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, the island region known for intensely peated spirits.

The Lagavulin distillery sits on the southern coast of Islay, where it has operated since 1816, drawing water from the Solan Lochs and using traditional wooden washbacks and slow copper pot still distillation.

The whisky ages for a minimum of sixteen years in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak ex-sherry casks, which contribute layers of dried fruit sweetness alongside the signature maritime peat smoke.

The distillery maintains one of the slowest distillation processes on Islay, producing greater copper contact and a heavier, more complex spirit. Expect dense peat smoke intertwined with iodine and sea salt, complemented by sherry cask richness that brings notes of dark chocolate, raisins, and charred oak.

Bottled at 43 percent alcohol by volume.
