La Trappe is a Dutch Trappist brewery, one of the few in the world certified to carry that designation. The Tripel is not a lager despite what the listing says. It is a golden abbey ale, strong and bottle-conditioned, with that characteristic warmth and yeasty sweetness Trappist beers are known for. At $7.16 it is a serious beer at a fair price. Grab it when you want something with genuine history behind it.
