Johnnie Walker Double Black is a smokier expression from the Diageo-owned blending house, building on Black Label. It uses a higher proportion of whiskies from Islay and the Scottish west coast, giving peat smoke and maritime character. It is matured in heavily charred oak casks, which add depth and spice.
It draws from multiple distilleries across Scotland. There is no age statement. It is served neat, with a splash of water, or used in cocktails.
