Very Special, commonly known as VS, represents the entry point into the Hennessy range and carries the youngest age designation under French Cognac regulations, meaning the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend has been aged a minimum of two years in Limousin oak.

In practice, the house uses a blend of up to 40 different eaux-de-vie, assembled by the Hennessy master blender to maintain a consistent house style across every release.
