Glenmorangie 12 Year Old The Original

Glenmorangie distillery sits in Tain, in the Scottish Highlands, and has been producing single malt Scotch whisky since 1843. The Original, aged 12 years, is the distillery's flagship expression and serves as the clearest statement of what Glenmorangie does best.

The distillery uses the tallest pot stills in Scotland, standing at just over five metres, which forces the spirit vapour to travel further before condensing. This extended contact with copper produces a notably light, floral, and elegant new make spirit.

Maturation takes place exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, which Glenmorangie sources and seasons themselves in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri before filling. Over 12 years, these casks contribute vanilla, stone fruit, and gentle spice to the spirit without overwhelming its delicate character.
