Glenfarclas - 12 Year Old

Glenfarclas is a Speyside single malt distillery that has remained family-owned by the Grant family since 1865, making it one of the few truly independent operations in the Scotch whisky industry. The distillery sits at the foot of Ben Rinnes in the heart of Speyside, drawing water from a spring on the mountain.

Glenfarclas is known for using direct-fired copper pot stills and maintaining a commitment to ex-sherry cask maturation, a practice that defines the house style. The 12 Year Old expression is aged exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks sourced from Spain, giving it a distinctly rich and warming character.

This sherried Speyside offers layers of dried fruit, Christmas cake spice, and a robust malty sweetness that reflects the traditional approach the distillery has maintained for generations. At 43% ABV, it carries more body than many entry-level malts.

Sherry cask expressions at this age and strength are relatively uncommon in the category.
