Giffard is a family-owned French liqueur producer in the Loire Valley, founded in 1885 by Émile Giffard, a pharmacist who originally created a peppermint liqueur for digestion. It has been family-run for five generations.
The Giffard Method macerates real fruit in neutral spirit rather than using artificial flavouring compounds. The Caribbean Pineapple Liqueur is made from macerated pineapples from the Caribbean, selected for ripeness and sugar content, blended with cane sugar and neutral grain spirit.
It is fruity and bright, at a moderate alcohol level. It is used in tropical-style cocktails and punches, and in place of triple sec where a pineapple note is wanted.
