Fords Gin - London Dry Gin

Fords Gin is a collaboration between bartender Simon Ford and the 86 Co., produced at Thames Distillers in London under master distiller Charles Maxwell. It was designed for bartenders to work in many cocktails.

The nine botanicals are juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, jasmine, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, cassia bark and bitter orange peel. They are macerated together and distilled in copper pot stills in a single shot, with no dilution of a concentrate after distillation.

It is 45 percent ABV, slightly above the category minimum, which helps in stirred cocktails such as a Martini or Negroni and in citrus-forward drinks. The nose is bright citrus and floral, then a classic juniper core, with jasmine adding aromatic lift.
