El Dorado - 12 Year Old Finest Demerara

El Dorado 12 Year Old is produced by Demerara Distillers Limited at the Diamond Distillery on the Demerara River in Guyana, South America. Demerara rum is its own category.

The distillery uses heritage wooden pot stills, including the Port Mourant double wooden pot still and the Enmore wooden coffey still, among the last of their kind operating anywhere. The 12 Year Old is a blend of rums aged a minimum of twelve years in oak casks from these different still types.

It balances the dense, treacle-like richness of Demerara with age-driven smoothness. El Dorado rums are sweetened to a degree common in the category.
