Don Papa Rum

Don Papa is produced in the Philippines, on the island of Negros Occidental, a region with sugarcane grown on the slopes of Mount Kanlaon. The rum is made from locally grown sugarcane molasses and aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of seven years.

It is overseen at Bleeding Heart Rum Company and named after Papa Isio, a folk hero of the Philippine revolution. It is a column-distilled, blended rum finished to a relatively high sugar content, closer to a European-style dessert rum than a dry Caribbean rum. It is not a Caribbean rum. The profile is rich and sweet.

It is served as a sipping rum and used in cocktails with a sweeter base.
