Don Julio - Blanco

Don Julio Blanco is produced at Destilería La Primavera in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, by Tequila Don Julio, now owned by Diageo.

The distillery sources blue Weber agave from the highland region, where the red clay soil and higher elevation produce agave with a naturally sweeter, more citrus-forward character compared to lowland expressions.

The agave is harvested at full maturity, typically around seven to ten years, slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens, and double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills. Don Julio Blanco is bottled unaged immediately after distillation, which preserves the fresh agave character in its most direct form.

The squat, distinctive bottle design was introduced by Don Julio González himself to allow guests at the table to see one another without the bottle obstructing the view, a small detail that reflects the personal history behind the brand.
