Diplomático Mantuano is produced at Destilerías Unidas in the Andean foothills of Venezuela. It sits one step below the flagship Reserva Exclusiva. It is a blend of pot still and column still distillates made from sugarcane molasses and sugarcane juice.
The rum is aged up to eight years in American and Canadian oak barrels. The palate leans toward dark fruit, toffee and dried fig, with oak present. It is served over ice or used in cocktails.
