D'USSE is a Cognac produced at Chateau de Cognac, one of the oldest operating facilities in the Cognac region of France, dating back to 1838. The house is a joint venture involving Jay-Z's Armand de Brignac parent company and Bacardi, which provides substantial distribution reach.

The VSOP is a blend drawing from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus, aged a minimum of four and a half years in Limousin oak, which is longer than the VSOP category legally requires.
