Chambord is a French liqueur produced in the Loire Valley, drawing on a recipe said to date to the late 17th century when raspberry liqueurs were fashionable at the French royal court.

The modern product is owned by Brown-Forman and made near the Château de Chambord, the Renaissance landmark that inspired its distinctive orb-shaped bottle.

The liqueur is made from black raspberries and blackberries sourced from the Loire region, blended with Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey, and cognac.

The fruit is macerated twice to build depth, and the resulting liquid is sweet, intensely fruity, and low enough in alcohol to work as a versatile bar ingredient.

Chambord became a staple in cocktail culture largely through the Kir Royale and the French Martini, and it remains one of the most recognizable raspberry liqueurs on the market.

5% ABV it is gentle enough to splash into sparkling wine or drizzle over desserts, but it also adds color and berry sweetness to spirits-forward cocktails.

The ornate bottle and well-established flavor profile make it a practical purchase for home bartenders who want a reliable, widely compatible liqueur at a reasonable price point.
