Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese from Tenuta Il Poggione at Sant'Angelo in Colle, Montalcino. The estate covers 530 hectares, 140 of them planted with vines, and the grapes are picked by hand from its oldest vines. The producer's 2021 sheet describes fermentation in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, then long aging in French oak. The estate says it was one of the first wineries to market Brunello di Montalcino and a founding member of the Brunello Consortium.
