Menabrea Ambrata is an Italian amber lager from one of the country's oldest breweries, based in Biella. It pours a warm copper and drinks malt-forward with a faint caramel sweetness and less bitterness than you'd expect from a lager. At five bucks it's an easy reach when someone wants something a step beyond a standard pale lager without committing to anything heavier.
