Benriach - The Twelve

BenRiach distillery sits in Speyside, Scotland, and has been producing malt whisky since 1898. The Twelve is matured for at least twelve years in three cask types: sherry casks, bourbon barrels and port casks.

The whisky carries the orchard fruit character associated with the region, while the secondary casks add dried fruit richness and a gentle spice. BenRiach is known for its historically wide use of peated malt alongside its unpeated spirit.

The Twelve falls into the unpeated category, with cask influence at the fore and no smoky interference. Brown-Forman acquired the distillery in 2016.

At twelve years of age with a clearly articulated cask program, this bottle offers transparency about what is in the glass, combining orchard fruit with dried fruit richness and spice from the secondary cask maturation.
