Beefeater London Dry Gin

Beefeater London Dry Gin has been produced in London since 1863, making it one of the few premium gins still distilled in the city. The Kennington distillery, now under the stewardship of master distiller Desmond Payne, continues the tradition established by pharmacist James Burrough.

The botanical bill features nine signature ingredients: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, angelica seed, orris root, lemon peel, orange peel, liquorice, and almonds. These botanicals are steeped in neutral grain spirit for a full 24 hours before distillation, a longer maceration than many competitors employ.

This extended steep extracts deeper, more complex flavors from the botanicals. As a true London Dry, no artificial flavors or sweeteners are added after distillation. The result is a crisp, juniper-forward gin with balanced citrus and spice notes that has remained largely unchanged for over 160 years.

Beefeater is remarkably versatile, performing equally well in a classic martini, gin and tonic, or Negroni. Its bold juniper character ensures it does not get lost when mixed, while its balanced profile keeps it approachable.

At this price point, it remains one of the most reliable and well-crafted London Dry gins available for everyday mixing and entertaining.
