Balvenie - 14 Year Old Caribbean Rum Cask

The Balvenie distillery, located in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland, maintains a reputation for traditional craftsmanship. This 14 year old whisky undergoes cask finishing, a technique the distillery helped pioneer.

The whisky spends its initial maturation in traditional oak casks before being transferred to casks that previously held Caribbean rum for an extended finishing period.

This secondary maturation imparts layers of tropical sweetness and dried fruit character while preserving the signature honeyed, malty Balvenie profile.

The Balvenie is one of the few Scottish distilleries that still grows its own barley, maintains its own malting floor, and employs a team of coopers and coppersmiths on site. Bottled at 43 percent ABV.

The rum cask influence works well neat, with a few drops of water, or as a base for cocktails that benefit from tropical undertones.
