Bacardi Gold is produced by Bacardi Limited, founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó. After the Cuban Revolution, operations moved to Puerto Rico, where most Bacardi rum is distilled.
This gold rum is made with a continuous column still and aged in charred American white oak barrels, typically for one to two years, which gives its golden colour. Bacardi uses a proprietary yeast strain maintained since the company's founding. This is the PET bottle.
It sits between the unaged Carta Blanca and the Añejo in the portfolio. It is used in Cuba Libres, Mojitos and highballs with ginger beer.
