Amarula Cream Liqueur

Amarula Cream Liqueur is produced in South Africa by Distell. It is built around the fruit of the marula tree, a wild African species that grows across sub-Saharan Africa.

The marula fruit is harvested once a year, fermented and double-distilled, and the spirit is aged for two years in French oak barrels before being blended with fresh cream. Most other cream liqueurs use a neutral grain spirit base. At 17 percent ABV.

It is served over ice or as a dessert drink, used in coffee-based cocktails, and goes with chocolate desserts. It has a tropical, caramel-tinged flavour.
