Absolut Vodka

Absolut Vodka is produced by The Absolut Company in Åhus, a small town in southern Sweden, where it has been made continuously since 1879.

The vodka is distilled from winter wheat grown in the surrounding Skåne region, and the water used in production comes from a deep local well, making the entire supply chain unusually local for a spirit of this scale.

Absolut uses a continuous distillation process, putting the wash through distillation hundreds of times, which strips out impurities while retaining a soft, slightly grainy character from the wheat base.

Unlike many large-format vodkas, Absolut contains no added sugar and no glycerol, keeping the profile clean and relatively neutral. The bottle design, modeled after an old Swedish medicine bottle found in an antique shop, has become one of the most recognized in the spirits world.

For a bar cart staple or a go-to mixing vodka, Absolut delivers consistent quality at a sensible price point. It blends smoothly into cocktails without overpowering other ingredients, and it holds up well served cold and neat.

The brand also produces an extensive range of flavoured expressions, but the original remains the benchmark against which the rest of the line is measured.
