Absolut Vodka is produced by The Absolut Company in Åhus in southern Sweden, where it has been made continuously since 1879. It is distilled from winter wheat grown in the Skåne region, and the water comes from a deep local well.
Absolut uses a continuous distillation process with the wash going through distillation many times, which removes impurities while keeping a soft, slightly grainy character from the wheat. It contains no added sugar and no glycerol. The bottle design is modelled after an old Swedish medicine bottle.
It is used in cocktails and served cold and neat. The brand also makes flavoured vodkas.
