Aberlour - A`bunadh Cask Strength

Aberlour A'bunadh is a cask strength single malt from the Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery has operated since 1879 in the village of Aberlour on the banks of the River Spey. The name A'bunadh means 'the original' in Gaelic, a reference to the traditional methods used in its production.

It is released in batches without an age statement, with casks selected at maturity rather than according to a fixed timeline. Maturation takes place exclusively in Oloroso sherry butts sourced from Spain, producing a rich, full-bodied whisky with pronounced dried fruit and spice characteristics.

Bottled at cask strength, typically between 59 and 62 percent alcohol by volume depending on the batch. A few drops of water will open up additional layers of complexity, though it can also be drunk at full strength. The deep amber colour and viscous texture reflect the sherry cask influence.
