Mother's Day Gift Guide 2026: One of One

Mother's Day wine and spirits selection at Broadway Beer Wine & Spirits

Your Mom is one of one. The bottle should be too.

Hi everyone,

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 10, and we have spent the week thinking about what bottles deserve to be on the table for it. Not the obvious ones. The ones that say something. Every mom has her own way of being a mom, and the bottle should match the person, not the holiday.

We pulled together a selection this week from across the shop. Wine, sake, sparkling, BC limoncello, Provençal pink gin. Each one chosen with a specific kind of mom in mind. Five of them are below, with more tucked through the shop in their usual spots. We also have Mother's Day greeting cards we designed for the shop, in case the bottle needs something to sit next to.

For the mom who already knows what she likes

Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay 2024

Burgundy  ·  $34.99

Burgundy white. Reliable in the way only French wine can be. Louis Jadot has been making this bottle since the 1800s, and it has earned its place on the Sunday lunch table. Crisp, mineral, finished cleanly with the kind of restraint Burgundy is known for. She has been buying this for years. She does not need an adventure. She wants what she trusts, served cold, on a table set for her this weekend.

Pairs with whatever lunch is being made or served. Holds up next to roast chicken, simple pasta, or a wedge of soft cheese.

For the mom who says she does not drink reds

Orofino Gamay 2025

Similkameen Valley, BC  ·  $34.84

Pour this before she sees the colour. Gamay is the grape behind Beaujolais, the wine that taught the world that reds could be light, juicy, and built to be served chilled. In Cawston, on the Orofino estate, the Smiths have been farming biodynamically since 2001 and the wine reflects that work. Bright fruit, low tannin, an honest expression of the Similkameen.

This is the bottle that resets what someone thinks red wine has to be.

Serve it 15 minutes out of the fridge with charcuterie or grilled vegetables.

For the mom who reads the labels at restaurants

Sunday in August Orange

BC  ·  $33.81

Skin-contact white from BC. Orange wine is white wine made like red wine, with the grape skins left in the juice during fermentation. The result is something tannic, textured, and a little funky in the best sense. Not a category for the cautious. A category for the curious.

She follows winemakers on Instagram. She has opinions about producers. She has been waiting for the rest of us to catch up to natural wine. She will know what this is before you finish handing it to her, and she will be impressed that you knew too.

For the mom who would rather travel than drink wine

Hakutsuru Nigori Momoshu (Peach Sake)

Japan  ·  $30.74

Nigori means cloudy. Momoshu means peach. Hakutsuru has been brewing in Kobe since 1743, which is almost 300 years of refinement going into a single bottle. This expression is soft, lightly sweet, and built to be served chilled in a small glass on a warm afternoon.

It is the bottle for the mom who has been talking about Japan for ten years and has not been yet, or for the one who has been and never stopped thinking about it. Either way, this is a small trip in a glass.

For the mom who says she does not need anything

The Woods Spirit Co. Limoncello

North Vancouver, BC  ·  $39.99

The Woods is a North Vancouver distillery using fresh organic lemons and a vacuum still that captures the essential oils without applying heat. The result tastes brighter and cleaner than most limoncello on the market.

She did not ask for it because she would never ask for anything, and that is exactly why she should get it. Bring this and a bag of lemons.

Pour it over ice on a sunny patio. It tastes like sun.

And more, across the shop

In addition to those five, we pulled together eleven more for the lineup this year:
